Tranquilino (b. 1994) finds the fluidity of liquid intriguing, the way it trickles down a surface or on skin, following an unpredictable path. It serves as the groundwork of her artistic practice centered on oil paintings that depict human figures and mundane objects cloaked in cascading drips.

A significant portion of the artist's conceptual process occurs even before the physical act of pouring the liquid onto her subjects. Careful consideration is given to the viscosity, opacity, color, and texture of the medium - often a mixture of liquid substances or molten wax - each adjusted to align with the intended emotions and narrative of the piece. Its characteristics are crucial in conveying meaning: a thicker pour may imply a heavy burden, a vibrant hue can emphasize the significance of an object, while a deep red syrup - indicative of blood - can epitomize themes of metamorphosis and rebirth.

Although meticulous planning and manipulation precedes Tranquilino's pouring process, the final outcome endures past the artist's control. The liquid forms organic and unpredictable configurations introducing an element of spontaneity into each work. This moment of submission is integral to the artist's creative exercise, enabling her to reject technical rigidity and engage with the artwork from an observational perspective. In relinquishing control, Tranquilino's artistic exploration embraces the dynamic nature of fluidity and invites her viewers to examine each work as evocative entities beyond conventional visual expositions.
